It is important to realise that brainfog is a symptom of another condition, and so the symptoms you see here purely relate to brainfog. You will definitely have more symptoms than this. This list is designed to help you understand and categorise your symptoms, and help those unsure if they have brainfog, determine if they do.

You don't have to have every symptom on this list to have brainfog, and you do not have to have a certain severity of each symptom either. If you believe there are symptoms specifically to brainfog that we have not included here, please use the discussion page.

Symptoms

Confusion / Derealisation

You may feel dazed, and unable to translate what is around you. This will be particularly strong if your brainfog has just been retriggered by your root cause.

Difficulty concentrating

You may struggle to focus on what you are doing no matter how important or dedicated you are to it.

Memory Problems

Your short term and (less commonly) long term memory can be completely fragmented or non existant.

Comprehension Problems

You may find it extremely hard to comprehend what someone is saying or what you are reading, and as a result may need to constantly re-read or have the information broken down for you.
